Such "diseases" are usually not treated: some are simply observed, others are considered a variant of the norm. So is it worth starting a treatment that can not only take a hefty sum out of your wallet, but also add stress and take time? We have collected 10 gynecology myths that every woman should know about.

Cervical erosion should be treated

In fact, erosion of the cervix is a diagnosis refuted by the world community of obstetricians and gynecologists. There is no such diagnosis in the world, and therefore there is no diagnosis and treatment. Cervical erosion should be treated only in two cases: if you have bloody discharge after intercourse, or there is an excessive amount of white, odorless discharge that is unpleasant for you. Do not rush to immediately freeze or burn the erosion. However, erosion should be monitored, and if there is inflammation, it should be treated.

There is such a diagnosis "gardnerellosis"

Gardnerellosis is not distinguished as a separate disease. There is only bacterial vaginosis, in which the number of gardnerella increases. Only the detection of gardnerella does not mean the presence of the disease. If there are discharges with an unpleasant smell, itching, pain during sexual intercourse, antibacterial therapy can be prescribed.

Sex will "cure" women's diseases

In fact, there are no diseases associated with the lack of sex. But there are diseases and conditions that really improve when a woman lives a regular sex life. This is a syndrome of chronic pelvic pain with varicose veins, when there is blood stagnation in the small pelvis, problems with blood vessels. Sex alleviates these conditions. But no more than some exercise. Sex does not cure any gynecological problems. However, it is bad when there is desire and no orgasm. It can affect a woman's emotional state, mood, cause irritation and nervous breakdowns.

If there are problems, you need to give birth, and they will disappear

Another common myth claims that after the birth of a child, menstrual pains will disappear. The intensity of periodic pain actually decreases with age. But no one has been treated for pregnancy and sex, no matter how much we would like it.

You can get hepatitis and other diseases from a gynecologist

If the instruments are disposable (and they are just like that in clinics), it is impossible to get infected through them.

PMS is normal

PMS occurs due to an unbalanced effect of sex hormones. Depressive symptoms, mood swings, headache, heaviness in the body, pain in the lower abdomen, enlargement and sensitivity of the mammary glands - this is not the norm. This is a reason to consult a gynecologist-endocrinologist, check the work of hormones, pass certain tests.

The curvature of the uterus prevents pregnancy

Tilting of the uterus forward or backward is a variant of the norm. It does not affect the possibility of pregnancy. Special positions for fertilization are not required.

It is necessary to treat ureaplasma

Ureaplasmas and mycoplasmas can normally exist in the genital tract without causing any diseases. But if inflammation occurs, it must be removed.

Tonus and hypertonus of the uterus should be treated

If a woman is told about the "tone of the uterus", she should not go to the hospital to treat something that is not there - say specialists of the Ministry of Health. "Tone" and "hypertonus" of the uterus are not indicators for the possibility of not carrying the child to term.

If a pregnant woman has "thick blood", she may not carry the fetus

There is no such thing as "thick blood" at all. Every woman's blood changes during pregnancy, and this is normal.

Learn more to prevent dangerous diseases in time and not pay attention to those moments that will not actually harm your health. Visit a gynecologist once every six months, because there are diseases that we may simply not notice. Don't forget to check your mammary glands as well.
