It is at this time of the year that some of us fall asleep later and cannot wake up for a long time, some simply have insomnia, and some have a need for daytime sleep.

How sleep is related to heat

It is known that sleep disturbance is caused by the weakening of the inhibitory process in the cerebral cortex. However, in the summer it occurs often and as an independent phenomenon, because often we cannot fall asleep simply because of the heat, and then the regime goes astray, and this situation continues for a long time. If we are talking about insomnia in the summer, it is much easier to deal with it than with what arises as a result of some disease. Daytime sleep in the summer can be disturbed by the same heat. Responding to it, the body slows down its physiological processes, turning on the energy-saving mode. A feeling of fatigue, apathy, drowsiness appears.

What to do to fall asleep in the summer

In hot weather, all traditional methods of falling asleep quickly are not always effective. Everyone knows that in order to sleep soundly, you should not eat and drink a lot of water, do sports, consume caffeine, listen to music, watch TV or work at the computer at night. All light must be turned off in order for the sleep hormone - melatonin - to be produced. But in the summer, you should take additional measures to sleep sweetly and sufficiently. Here are some tips to help you survive a hot night and fall asleep quickly

Shower before bed. After a hot day, you must take a cool shower. It will lower the internal body temperature.

A lot of water. Don't forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration can keep you from falling asleep. But before going to sleep, refrain from drinking liquids, because then frequent visits to the toilet can become the cause of insomnia.

Natural linen and bedding. Give preference to light natural bedding. The same applies to clothes for sleeping. It is not recommended to sleep naked in the heat, because underwear should absorb sweat and excess moisture.

Light food. Do not overload the body, which is already not easy in the heat. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, avoid fatty and fried foods.

Sport. It is better to do sports in the summer in the morning. In the evening, only light stretches are suitable, which will induce sleep and calm down.

And do not rush to drink sleeping pills. If insomnia is a seasonal phenomenon, it will definitely disappear with the onset of a new season.
